Joseph McCann is on trial for a catalogue of sexual offences committed against 11 alleged victims in two weeks
Jurors were offered counselling in the trial of alleged serial sex attacker Joseph McCann as a 17-year-old described a horrific four-hour ordeal of sexual violence she says she and her family were put through.
McCann, of Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire, is accused of committing more than 35 sexual offences on eleven victims aged between 11 and 71 in two weeks in April and May.
The jury in the case was today played a recording of an interview with one of his alleged victims, a 17-year-old girl who said she was sexually abused along with her mother and her 11-year-old brother in Lancashire.
The court heard McCann had met the woman at a nightclub before getting a taxi back to her house and then tying her up on her bed with wiring from hairdryers and straighteners.
He then attacked the teenage girl who tried to call him a cab and used a kitchen knife to threaten her and her brother, while the mother listened, helpless, from her room, the court heard.
In her interview with police, the girl said: ‘His knife must have cut me in a few places. I was shouting “mum, mum, mum”, but at this point he had the knife.
‘My mum was like “what are you doing, trying to stop him?”.’
CCTV footage shown to the jury shows McCann during the weeks he is alleged to have committed the offences
The teenage girl said the both she and her brother were forced to perform sex acts on McCann. She said McCann took cocaine and swigged vodka during the ordeal.
McCann allegedly told her: ‘You are going to Europe tomorrow, you are mine.’
The girl said: ‘At this point my life flashed before my eyes. I thought of marriage and everything.
‘I’m going to be his sex slave. I thought, I’m not having this.’
The girl told police: ‘You know when you can see inside someone’s eyes and you know they are pure evil.
‘Because it happened to me and my brother it has kind of ruined the family.’

After four hours, the girl managed to escape from a first floor window and ran to a relatives’ house nearby, from where she phoned the police.
She feared her mother and brother would be killed because she had got away.
McCann denies seven counts of rape, one count of rape of a child under 13, seven counts of kidnap, one attempted kidnap, 10 counts of false imprisonment, three counts of assault by penetration, three counts of causing or inciting a child under 13 to engage in sexual activity, one count of sexual assault and two of causing a person to engage in sexual activity without their consent.
The trial continues.
- A previous version of this article erroneously reported that the teenage girl had testified the victims were forced to perform sex acts on each other. We would like to clarify that her testimony did not include this allegation, and apologise for the error.
